The Basic Rules of the Global Explorer Round the World Ticket

           Please note these rules are provided as a guide only and are subject to change without notice.

Airport Taxes and Airline Fuel Surcharges:

Vary depending on your route and exchange rates at the time of ticketing. Range from £300 to £700
depending on your destinations. Please call us for an exact quote.


Minimum/maximum trip duration:

Minimum validity 10 days and maximum validity 12 months. Extension of ticket validity is not permitted.

Stopovers: 

Economy Class 26,000 mile ticket - minimum 3 / maximum  5  with no more than 2 in any one region.
Economy Class 29,000 mile ticket - minimum 3 / maximum 10 with no more than 3 in any one region.
Economy Class 34,000 mile ticket - minimum 3 / maximum 15 with no more than 4 in any one region.
Economy Class 39,000 mile ticket - minimum 3 / maximum 15 with no more than 4 in any one region.

First and Business Class 34,000 mile ticket - with no more than 4 in any one region.
Regions defined as :
 -Europe (inc. Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) and the Middle East (inc. Egypt and Sudan)
 -Africa
 -Asia
 -South West Pacific (inc. Australia, New Zealand)
 -North America (inc. Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, Panama)
 -South America
Only one international departure and one international arrival to/from the country of origin is permitted.
A maximum of 2 stopovers is permitted in continent of origin.
Cuba / Libya and American Airlines cannot be included on the same ticket.

Transits:
Unlimited online / interline transfers permitted subject to mileage limitations.
The same city pair cannot be flown more than once in the same direction.
Travel may not be via the original point of origin.

Surface sectors:
Permitted. Each surface sector counts as one stop and is included in the total mileage and stopover calculation for the ticket.

Basic Route:
Travel must be "round the world" and must include one Transatlantic and one Transpacific crossing.

A maximum of 16 flight segments allowed for the entire journey*. (See below)

* IMPORTANT NOTE: MAXIMUM 16 SEGMENTS FOR TICKETS ISSUED ON/AFTER 01JUN08 - INCLUDING SURFACE SEGMENTS ARE PERMITTED FOR THE ENTIRE JOURNEY.           

Backtracking between regions is not permitted (Exception - Asia may be passed through twice providing one of the departure/arrivals in Asia is a transit without stopover in conjunction with travel between the South West Pacific and Europe).

Route Restrictions:
Itineraries may not include Cuba/Libya and flights on American Airlines on the same ticket.

Airport Taxes and Fuel Surcharges:
Pre-paid government airport taxes and fuel surcharges are not included in the fares. This will be calculated by your travel consultant and is normally between £400 to £700
depending on the number of destinations and booking class.

Upgrades:
Upgrade to British Airways World Traveller Plus & Qantas Premium Economy from £350.00 per flight sector. (Exception - London to Sydney or Melbourne or vice versa from £500.
Upgrading by sector to business/first class is not permitted.


Payment:
A non-refundable deposit of £75 will secure your seat (£150 for business or first class). We will then forward a detailed itinerary and confirmation by email. Any changes you wish to make should be advised within 7 days of booking and before your balance is paid. Due to varying ticket time limits imposed by the airlines, we normally request payment within 10 days of making your original reservation. The exact balance due date will be advised to you at time of booking and shown on your confirmation invoice.   

(There is a 2% handling fee of paying your balance by credit card).
 

Changes:
After starting your trip date changes are free or for a small local admin fee. Route changes are $125USD (or local equivalent).
Once you have started your trip all changes must be made directly with the airline.
Before starting your trip date and/or route changes cost £150 per ticket.


Child fares:
75% of adult fare for children 2 - 11 years old throughout duration of trip (No discount on surcharges and taxes).

Infant fares:
10% of adult fare for infants under 2 years old throughout duration of trip (No discount on surcharges).

Cancellation fees:
Penalties apply for cancellation. Please ask our consultants for details.
No refunds permitted on partly used tickets.
